My SC quits after running for about 1hr,I know it`s got some blow-by but I don`t know why this would stall it.I rebuilt the carb with no difference ,also the coil feels warm to touch.I have a 12v coil w/internal resistor and i`m running 14.6v to ignition.Any ideas appreciated

Thanks for your input, this is my 2nd coil with this problem,do you think I need a resistor other than the one in the coil itself? Thank you and have a nice holiday

Those ballast resistor's were designed to drop that 12-14 volts to 6 or 7 after the engine started. They were used in water craft too. I've never had a coil with an internal resistor
that I ever had a problem with. A defective resistor usually will allow the engine to start
until you release the starter switch and then the engine dies. Bob M has a very good troubleshooting flow chart for most of these electrical problems. He may post on your problem
later today. Hal

Sounds like your coil may be the problem. When it quits you should remove the distributor cap,
rotor & points cover if it has one and remove the coil wire from the cap and hold it within 1/4" of ground. With the ignition switch on snap open the points and watch for spark at the end of the coil wire. Could be coil or condenser if there's no fire from coil wire. Have a nice Fourth, Hal
