Hi Guys,

Got the old H moved out to her new home. Derned first 5 miles made 'er work pretty hard climbing up outta these hills. Once out in the field tho, she acted like she had never been gone. A darned good day, today. :>)

I put some hayin' pictures up on the "Tractor Talk" board too.

Nice looking old H now if it only had a 3 pt you could move 2 instead of just 1 bale.

Hi Leland,

To my mind, the H really isn't big enough for a three point.

I'm used to just leaving it at the stack and haul in with another tractor making the double-4 row of 8 bales and also a third row of 3 out to the side.

Then, it is just a matter of lifting the 3 top bales with the loader tractor and it doesn't have to run all over the field.

Allan, I realize you know what you are doing, But just do not forget a good wide brim hat, and gloves also some sunblock Also a good water jug. After not being out in the sun that much for low these many yrs. At least in the middle of a field on an open top tractor. You don't want to forget to take care or yourself. Here at the house, it is right at 100 degrees here with a heat index of 108. My Dad-in-law said it was 103 @ Stratford ,Tx this afternoon. A good unbrella for the H, and a good 5 bow buggy top for the 966/656.
Put the buggy top up on my girl, Saturday, when I headed off to plow fire lines at the road and inbetween to the house. It made all the difference!!! ..... ..
One 50 acre field that had 3 parts to it. So all parts now have a 60 ft border around each. All I need is to have a wild fire accross my place with no defenceses to slow it up. At lease I now have my place in a defensive position, in case of fire.
I think the new term that is given to it is 'Defendable Area'. Anyway....got off chaseing rabbits here. Just be careful with the heat. I am sure the Mrs. has warned you too. Have fun, be safe,Friend.
Later,
John A.

Hi John,

Yesterday, the wife ran into that trouble. We had to bring her home as she was showing signs of heat stroke.

I'm just turning black... Wife says I'm starting to look like a native.

Hmmmm, 'spose this could be a good time to let the cat outta the bag and tell her some things that she has never known about my heritage. :>)

Please turn it around and put her in the shed tonight for her good efforts. She deserves a holiday treat of some kind! Maybe a quick washoff to cool down or a nice poofy cushion for the seat so you don't scare her when you come calling next time. Just think of the work you would still be doing if you had to put the horse team away yet tonight. The people who brought us the tractors were genius to say the least. Beautiful pictures coming out of Nebraska. Do you work for the tourism bureau or something? Later Migraine P. S. This is hardgoing with only one hand to type with. Full cast to the elbow and lots of pain in the lower back and rear quarters buit I'm alive.

Hey Guy,

While I've got you on the phone, we need to have you take a peek at an old hole in the ground.

Maybe you can give us an idea of what to do with the silly old thing. Has a pump jack now, but no water. Submersible perhaps? I'll give you a call next week.

Allan
