The plus side of the coil is the wire to the distrubtor or is it incoming voltage wire.
can any one email me a wire diagram for a H

I wish my manuals would arrive

If the tractor is as-original, positive ground, the power wire from the switch goes to the coil's (-) terminal.

The coil's (+) terminal would be connected to the distributor.

If you have a negative ground conversion, the coil connections will be reversed from the above.

Thank you for the wiring diag.

Ok, I think I have found my stupidity - I did pull the dist out when I changed the points, however I did not pay attention to where the rotor was pointed. So I need to find TDC - is there a mark somewhere on the front pulley or other - how is easy way to hand thurn motor over

I ordered my manuals from this site 2 weeks ago

I should have this wired corretly - it's a 12v positve ground with a resistor coil - but I cant get the thing to fire new points, cap , rotor, coil, and condenser

Unless you have had the generator rewired for 12 volts, it has an altenator, which must be NEGATIVE ground.
