I sold the M a couple of days ago and the guy who bought it came to pick it up today. When the guy called about coming to look at it, I went out and fired it up to make sure it was running okay and everything, but then as some of you remember a couple of days ago the starter was acting up. Well, I never got the starter to work, but when the guy came this morning to pick it up we started pusing it down the yard to pop the clutch out and start it. It fired right up with no problem and I took off. I got up my driveway real steep and it started sputtering and shut down. Then I spun it around backwards(that was sort of dangerous on that incline) and I took off down the hill and tried jumping it and jumping it. Took the carb off checked everything and kept trying all the way down the end of my yard until I ran out of yard. The poor M just didn't want to leave. Well then we let it sit for a while and got the four wheeler to pull it, but the four wheeler can only pull it on flat ground for a little bit. Finally we ran out of yard and we were stuck. Fortunately I went over to my friend down the road, and he was nice enough to fire up his oliver 1650 diesel and drive about a mile to my house and pull start it. He started pulling and I had it in 4th and popped the clutch out and the engine was just chugging and not firing. I pushed in the clutch popped it out again and it finally fired up and was running just fine. The diagnosis is that it was flooded which I knew but with no starter it was kind of hard to crank it and clear it out until my friend pulled started it. Finally I got it all the way up the driveway and backed it on to his trailer he chained it down and drove off. Moral of the story is the M didn't want to leave and fought me hard the whole time until I got another tractor to coax it along. It's going to a good home though and the guy has been looking for an M to buy and on the east coast there a little hard to come by. Many thanks to all of you guys who have helped me with my problems on this board, and I'm sure this won't be my last tractor. . .but I just don't have the room for them right now or the money I'm still just 16.
