Why can't you do this:

Put it in a gear and carefully let the clutch out until the tractor starts moving, then push the clutch back in. That'll tell you which gears are forward and which is reverse. Maneuver the tractor into an open area and try each gear. It'll be fairly obvious which is 1st, 2nd, 3rd. 1st is slow, 2nd is slightly faster, and 3rd is way faster.

Nat,you certainly stated the obvious way to figure out my shift pattern. Only problem was that the clutch was not installed yet so that would be impossible. I could have waited for the new clutch to be installed to figure it out, but I was wanting to get a new shifter knob and wanted it to show the right pattern on it. Thanks for your suggestion though.

Reverse is left and down. First is left and up.

Second is right and down. Third is right and up.

To fill up the hydraulics, at the rear of the tractor there are three little threaded plugs that can be removed with a 3/8 drive ratchet with a short extension. The plugs have recessed square heads, so no socket is needed.

The center plug is where you fill up the hydraulics with Hy-Tran.

Thanks Doog!! All your info was right on. After a new clutch installation the lo-boy is up and running.
