How can I tell if my friends 100 is a high clearance or not ??? Has serial # 4677 J on left side of clutch housing tag. Other numbers are not stenciled in like serial #. What is the J for ?? Think it is a 1955 but would like to ID if HC or regular before he decides to sell it. Pics available if would held ID.

Tractor has 11.2 x 24 on rear. 6.00 x 15 on front. So, I can safely tell my friend he has a Farmall 100 regular ??? What is one that runs good worth ?? Tin work not bad at all, 2 welds on wide front axle, nice fenders, tires 40%. All original I "think". Complete.

Well, it doesn't meet the criteria I set for a hi-clear does it? Nope, so it's definitely a "regular" Farmall 100. Believe me, you can easily tell the difference even if you don't know what you're looking at. Plus, you have the entire Internet at your disposal to look up pictures of both to compare to this one your friend has.

Easy. Look at it, and compare it to some pictures of Farmall Super As, 100s, and 130s that you can easily find here on this site. The difference is quite obvious.

The rear wheels are 36" in diameter instead of 24". The fronts are 19" or 20" instead of 15". High-crop tractors look like they're on stilts.

I think "J" means a Rockford clutch. Someone will correct me if I am mistaken. Guy Fay's Date Book suggests that you are right on the 1955.
