I've got a 560 and the battery sits right in front of the steering shaft and I'm having a hard time keeping it in one place. I've just got a bungee holing it but it doesn't work very well. What was originally used to hold the battery in place and where can I get it? If it's not available what are you using? Thanks for the help.

You could make or have a battery box made big enough for the battery and secure it to the tractor. Use wooden strips in the bottom to keep any protruding bolts from rubbing the battery case. Hal

You could check to see if a Case-IH dealer can get the original-style hold down, but that will only work if you have the original size battery. The original hold down sat over the egdes of the top of the battery and bolted to the support with two long bolts. They rot away pretty quick. If you"ve got a welder, you could make somthing better than them in less then an hour with some angle iron and ready-rod.

Two batteries, a block of wood between them and bungee them together. Or you can build 4 long J bolts and a couple pieces of light angle iron to replace what they came with. Jake
