My brothers and I are working on a 1948 W6 and would like to know if the W9 is larger than the W6. I know the W9 engine is larger but is the tractor longer, wider or taller? I recently saw a W4 and was surprised how small it looked compared to our W6 . Thanks for all replies in advance.

A nice collection for comparison of size of tractors of the same basic profile would be a Shop Mule, W-4, W-6, and W-9. Each is about 30% or so bigger than the previous but of the same basic configuration.

The tractor is bigger in every dimension.

Although not exactly to the same proportions, if you were to set your W6 by a W9, the 9 would look pretty close to being as much bigger than the 6 as the 6 does compared to the 4.

I've seen pics somewhere on the net that have all three tractors sitting side by side. Check the Galleries and links at the left.
