Looking for a source to get O-ring seals for 49 C. My Case-IH dealer looked in his faded yellow pages and showes nothing for it. Only needs 4 o-rings but size is what is hard to come by. New pump is just short of what tractor is worth. thanks, Larry

If youhave a parts book you can give your dealer the number, it is in his computer -- he will probably have that o-ring on the shelf as it has multiple applications. Bear in mind that if there is a groove in the shaft that you will need a speedy sleeve. You will have to have the shaft hole enlarged to accept the speedy sleeve. CIH still has a kit available for that pump -- but again you need the number as there is more than one pump.

When I redid mine, I used common Orings out of an SAE Oring kit. Sorry, I don't recall the size.

5/8" I.D. 1/8" thick seems to be the O-ring. Nice snug fit.

I was looking for the seals myself this past week. They don't even list the pump in the IH catalogs. I would prefer to put in the an original type of seal.

Larry, how long ago did you do the repair ? I'm curious to know how long the O-ring will last.

I did mine 2 years ago - I suspect that if they didn't go right away, they won't. If I remember right, when I bought the kit, I inquired if they would stand up to hydraulic pressure, and was told they would. With the way they are in there, I think the size is the most important part as I think the pressure would push on them uniformly.
