Couple questions of ye whilst I wait for my manuals from Rice:

1) What size tires did the '39 factory rubber tired versions come with? No tires currently match on the beast. Has 28" in the rear and 20" truck tires up front.

2) Is the steering box adjustable? If so how? Where do you add lubricant? Being used to F-12s and F-20s, is this type of tractor simply tough to steer?

Thanx much ..... .

Pete

this is in repair manual for w30. [gear mesh ] this model has a backlash or mesh adjustment controlled by the eccentrially bored inner bearing. disconnect the drag link before adjusting backlash. to reduce backlash, remove and rotate bearing until backlash is reduced but not so far as to cause binding at any point in rotation of steering wheel. reinstall cap screws. shows 8x28 rims, tire sizes, 11.25-12.75----front rims, 4.50x20 rims, tire size,5.50-6.00-6.50- steering is not like my regular. i gotta use some muscle turning my 30.
