My '53 Super M will not hold hydraulic pressure. Is there a kit or particular parts that usually need replacing. It has live hydraulics with the reservoir under the gas tank. Thanks for helping.

Or, do you mean that it doesn't "hold" as in it will lift something, but when you move the lever back to center, it drops back down?

If so, you need to take the valve(s) apart, find out what's wrong, and fix it. That's the thing about these tractors... You can sit around all day and theorize on what's wrong, but until you hunker down and start wrenching, you won't ever know what's really wrong/broken.

Does your SM have a remote control (a 4 way or "christmas tree") valve, and you're not getting pressure out of it?

If yes, could simply be the the Liftall lever (sticks out of the right side of the reservoir tank) is not pulled back and latched.

Otherwise it's most likely the live pump has gone bad.

The system does not have a Christmas Tree. Everything works as it should, pull the rod, implement comes up, rod recenters on it's on, but then the implement slowly drops back to the ground. Tried adjusting the rod, but no change. I'm pretty sure it's a valve in the reservoir, just not sure how to tell what when I open it up. Thanks for responding.
