I have a Farmall H. I need to have the shifter built up so I can avoid getting stuck in two gears at once. I pulled the shifter out in order to take it out of gear and the end of the shifter is visibly worn. What are the specs and how do I measure? Also any other tips to rebuilding the lever would be appreciated.

I have always done this on a “to fit” basis. I usually try to measure the width of the rail and the length of the slot in the rail. Then I build accordingly. If you don’t have the cover off and the rails out this can be somewhat time consuming, but well worth the effort in the long run. Make sure you test it to verify you have a slight amount of end play and side play before you finish putting it together.

Someone may chime in here with the exact specs.
