My money pit 560 should be ready for paint in a couple weeks. Does anyone know the paint code for the white? Seems to me it was more of an off-white than what the 06-86 series had. Also, what year did they switch the dash from grey to black? After that"s all done, I"m going to rewire it. Is something similar to the original-style wire harness covering still avalible?

I have a 1960 and an early 1961 560 and they both have gray dashes. If they changed to black (which I like better) in 1961 it was a mid-year change. I will probably paint my dashes black when I restore them.

The original wiring harnesses are still availble from IH. Try this to view them:

Don't forget to add a set of chassis decals to give it the factory look.

It is my understanding that the color was changed in 1961 and stayed black till the end of production late 1963. The 58 and 59 models also had a different seat which was a low profile seat back support. Later they came out with the raised back support which wrapped arond the full contour of the seat and attached on the sides of the seat cushion. That is now referred to as the deluxe seat in the catalogs. Migraine

I forgot, a company Brillman sells various sizes of asphalt impregnated wire loom. They have a catalog and a website (Brillman.com). I"m restoring a 340 U, and have the same question r/e when the dash color changed. I believe it started out gray, but don"t know when it changed. I also don"t know what shade of gray the original was.

My understanding is that the cream color used on 340/460/560 Farmalls is IH-901. PPG 8665 is the correct cross for IH-901. For more information, there are many references to this on the Paint and Bodywork Forum.
