I am in the process of restoring grandpa's '61 140 and have disassembeled front end to clean and re-paint. The rubber boots that cover the ball joints are mostly missing or so rotten that they can't be re-used, nothing wrong with tie rod ends they are still tight just the rubber parts are shot! I have tried every auto part place but no luck! Closest Case-IH dealer is 70 miles away! Only need 4 stupid boots! Any ideas guys? I even searched online but to no avail! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! Scott

I replaced the boots on my 340U with new IH ones purchased from Hoober.com, in Eastern PA. They"ll ship them to you anywhere via Fed Express. Ask for Earl Walker in the Intercourse PA store: he"s helped me out alot. If you go to their web site there"s a toll free number, or you can email them.

Energy suspension sells them in polyurathane. They don't look quite right but they will cover the tie rod end opening and keep dirt out. here is the address to their website. Good luck. Jake Link

Thanks Guys! Guess I'll call My Case-Ih guy. Maybe He'll mail them to Me, just thought I could pick up locally. Something so simple and minor thought would be easy. Should have known better. I would've liked the polyurethane boots if they could match the look! I know they would last a long time! I'll keep You posted where i find them! 'Later, Scott
