I've got a new govenor spring for Cmore, but where does it go? Do I have to take the govenor apart?? I was thinking it was external, but must not be. Thanks, Cmore

Cmore, What kind of spring is it? If its a compression spring you can change that by taking the lower acorn nut off the bottom of the govenor and removing the screw and old spring. There is also an internal spring that you would have to remove the govenor housing to gain access to.

Cmore, As I write this post Im looking inside the govenor housing on my Super A. If its not the anti surge spring, the only other spring is the tension spring about 1 1/2" long with a hook on each end that spring keeps tension on your thrust bearings.

That sounds like the spring I have. The problem I'm trying to fix is my Super C won't seem to run up to full throttle, unless you "override" the throttle, and push it way up past the notches. Maybe it needs adjusted or something?? Thanks, Cmore

Letter farmalls, and others use linkage to the govenor that has no lubricant on the pivot points. these become worn and allow the rods to lengthen. The govenor will prevent overspeeding internally. look to the rods/joints and adjustments so that the govenor control lever is pulled fully when the hand control lever is in its last notch. On Cs there is also an external rod link from the gov. to the carb. this is not the linkage with the problem, do not adjust this except with a manual to go by. Ill bet the engine stays at idle till the hand lever is more than i/2 way pulled. LOL let us know the fix that works.
