I have a 241 baler with junk belts. I have the old belts off of one my our vermeer balers that are still in fair shape. The belts measure 436". The min length for the belts for the 241 according to the book is 424". How much longer should the belts be on the baler? Is 12" longer than the min length to much? Also, I am going to change the belts on the edge to 10" instead of 4". That should help out I think.

So many questions. Thanks for your help.

I changed the outside 4 inch belts to 10 inch on a old vermeer baler and it made a world of difference. I later changed the inside to. I had to cut out the guides in between each pair of belts to make room for the 10 inch.

Check to see if that 10" belt will fit. I dont think it will. On the 241 I had there were groves that the belts ran so could not put a wider belt on it.

I can't see 12-inches being too much. Pull all the belts off and put one replacement on and see how the tension looks.
