Hey Red of Indy!

Are you still around? Knockin 80 does not give me much incentive to get on the Internet. Its been a long dry spell since I've been on, but need a little info. I figured you might help me identify an H by its number: FBH 231388. Also, when was it produced? It does have a Super H grill and Carb, but is there more convincing evidence to nail it a Super H? Of course, I'd appreciate hearing from anybody that's knowledgeable! How about you Hugh M. of Tennessee?

Nat, Herb, Stan!

Thank you gentlemen for your advice on what IS and IS NOT a Farmall Super H. I've an old 1940 plain old "H", but she is still pretty, and sports a swell belly pump. I'm looking for one devoted to just drawbar work. Never took a second look at the Supers, until fifty years later now. Nat, tell ya what I'm gonna do....The gent who has the machine I described has a couple more Reg H's, which I am confident are just that! They appear to be dogs, but grille in both them are OK, I think? Weeds have grown up through their bellies. I'm intending to relieve him of one of them....., but the one I describe is probably the best of the three? If turns out I hook it on my line, I doubt he would swap grille, but if I have a secure line on acquiring the Regular, perhaps we can do business? Leeeee ya know! Yes, it sure does have the two holes you mentioned!

Yep, it's NOT a Super H.

Is it the Super H grille with the two extra holes? If so, I might have a deal for you. It's the wrong grille for your H, but my Super H has the wrong grille too.

I would like the correct grille for my tractor, and frankly sir, having a Super H grille on an H is SACRELIGE :) :) :)

Let's trade.

I'll be up front with you and say that your grille is worth a whole bunch more than mine in decent condition, so I'd be willing to sweeten the deal. I'll include a new reproduction "Farmall" emblem and some cash. Other than one bent bar and surface rust, my regular H grille is in darned good shape.

If you're interested, let me know and I'll open my email.

I am almost certain that a true Super has a serial prefix of SH XXXXX Mine does and so have several others that I have seen. Also a good indicator is Disc brakes. I know the last few of the regular Hs were built with them. On stage two supers the battery was under the seat also. Live Hydraulics on some. Remotes capable of dual action. etc.
