Put electronic ignition on my SMTA. Had stock coil on before so got coil also. The old coil clamp isn't big enough for new coil. Can find a chrome clamp for not too much but somehow not sure it looks right on the rusty red tractor. Also thought of putting coil up under hood, pointed down to avoid mositure. How have others handled this?

I had the same problem putting a new coil on my H. Had to make a temporary copy out of sheet metal that didn't look too shabby. It went back over the distributor so I could use the same coil wire and not have to re-route the primary wires too. Then I found out about the Pertronix P/N 10001 clamp. The cost was very reasonable. It is zinc plated but will get a coat of black paint before installation.

The hot coil, 40 thou. gap, and Ignitor module made a vast difference in cold starting after sitting for weeks at a time.

Mount it next to the air cleaner up under the hood, use a long coil wire, bout anyplace else, and your looking at putting it too close to heat from the engine. Did you get the 55,000 volt coil? Chad

I have tied them on with electrical wire.

If you don't like the chrome, you can paint it.
