This comming weekend I have to make a long road trip up to Effingham, IL to take the wife to a thing for her work. So I will be at the mercy of my 4 month old boy BY MYSELF either stuck sitting in a hotel room or goofing around somehow.
I have never been to the area and was wondering if anyone here knew of anything around that I might kill some time looking at or exploring.
Please Help Me..... ..

About an hour (45-50 miles) from effigham in Olney IL (the place with the white squirrels according to some of the drivers i've talked to from there) pacific cycle has a big warehouse and factory outlet store. I guess most of what they sell has blemishes but are cheaper than in a store. At least that's what they told me when I picked up a load of bikes there back in february Take route 33 east/south to newton then go south on state route 130, cross u.s. 50 (that little diner there has pretty good food) and around the corner turn left on tower road it's on the left. If you like flat land just drive around some state routes it's a nice area. From tower hill (nw of effingham) I was listening to 1190 am out of fort wayne in the truck. I don't know where you are from in TN but taking 33 to 130 to route 1 to I-64E to I-164S to get to the pennyrile(?) parkway is a nice way to get to nashville from there. You also have u.s. 40 (national road) running through town. In albion there's a place where they make filters. exciting. There's not a whole lot there. I'd suggest the gateway arch but it's a ways off yet and traffic on I-55/64/70 is real bad crossing the river.
