Hi guys! The picture shows the remotes on my MTA. I have it in my head that these are to make hook-up EASIER and disconnect cleanly if pulled on. Hooking these up is a bear! I have to completely disassemble what is in the picture. There is no comparable assembly on my remote cylinder. I think there should be and that if I had it I could hook up faster and without wrenches. Am I right about there being another half to this and, if so, where do I find one?

Makes life easier to hook these up if you turn off the tractor. and run the control lever back and forth to releave the pressure. Same when you unhook so there is no pressure left in the cylinder lines.

Dazed,

Just like the other guys say, put the tips on your cylinder hoses.

Then grab the approiate hose (from your picture) in your left hand and pull it towards you. This will move the coupler out of it's barrel to unlock position.

Insert the tip of the cylinder hose into the female part and then push the whole she-bang away from you, back into the barrel to lock it.

You just need the cylinder hose tips is all and you are in business. Probably less than $10 for the pair.

Allen,

Not sure, but it looks like he has the newer, better Pioneer female coupler bodies. If so, the male tips can be simply pushed in, and there's no need to pull the coupler bodies rearward.

they still make both types and they look similar. The push-pull type are what's going on the SM when I get around to it. Either way Allen's method works.

Are you lacking the male tips for your Pioneer couplers? The photo is from the TSC online store. About any tractor place oughta have them!

Looks to be Pioneer couplers, you have the female half and need the male ends for your implement. You can get these usally at any farm store or try the local dealer. They should have as its a common item.
