My son enjoys checking out serial numbers on tractors at sales and he was wondering what the last serial number for a Farmall H is. He has several books but each one seems to be alittle different. Any help would be appreciated.

The 2004 YT serial number guide shows 390500 in 1953 for the H, and 22202 in 1954 for the Super H. But I don't trust it much because it doesn't even list the Model C, only the Super C.

In the free booklet that they send when you buy a shop manual, the Model C is missing. It only shows the Super C. Can't complain when it's free...

Pharmall: You are reading those serial number charts wrong. The serial number 390500 is actually the beginning serial number for the year 1953. What they don't tell you is how many were built that year. I realize there were Super H built in 1953, and from that chart you can figure out how many Super H were built in 53. You just subtract beginning figure for 53 from beginning figure for 54. Those charts however do not tell you how many tractors were built for any specific model in final year of production.

By the way there are figures there for Farmall C.

Thanks. I was reading that final year as the last number. Should wait till the coffee kicks in before opening my mouth.

Pharmall: No, I really don't agree with your accessment. YT do an awfully poor job of presenting these serial numbers. In my opinion they should explain a few items better and include the final number for each model.

Now your coffee may help, however they have led more than one person astray. International Harvester Company does not require 5 catergories, it became IHC in 1904 before the days of tractors.
