I know this is a Farmall board, but I can't get much response on the Allis board.
Can anyone tell me for certain where the serial number is located on a D 12 Series 3 AC and in what form IE: stamped or on a plate.
I'm trying to help a lady by e mail about 100 miles away who knows very little about tractors.

Thanks !
Gary

I've noticed that there isn't much activity on that forum. AC stamped the numbers in cast. You may have to remove grease and rust to read the number.

my book says it is "located at front of torque housing on left side" I don't think Allis used a plate.

Thanks Cowman,
That was the information I was looking for.
I had that same info before, but the person that gave it to me said "I think", but when I passed it along to my friend, she couldn't find anything, so I wanted to get a second opinion before I invoked her wrath by telling her she didn't look hard enough.

Thanks !
Gary
