Paulson loader + Big Square bales

I have the chance to buy a Paulson (frame mount) loader for my "49 H. I have a 3 pt. hitch on it so really don"t want an axle-mount unit so the Paulson looks good so far. I will only use it to unload big-square bales and I won"t be moving the bales more than 30 feet, off my gooseneck into the hay shed, then hand-fed by the slab. The bales weigh ~1,000 lbs so I am sure my hydraulics will lift them (used to have pipe loader on it and it would lift ANYTHING). However, will the H frame rails hold that weight? Can I put some plates on to beef it up, or run some hefty steel back to my 3 point mounts (I made them VERY heavy just in case)? Thoughts?

I have another loader and a skid-loader so I won"t be digging or moving anything other than bales with the H (and only twice a year) and maybe playing in the snow.

Hey Brent,

The weak point is the torque tube 'cause those old Hs have a nasty habit of breakin' in two.

Run your reinforcements under and forward to the forward part of the frame rails tying the rear of the tractor to the front.
