Cleaning Tube on Cub

On my Farmall Cub, I went to blow air through the tube that connects between the block and the air cleaner and it is plugged. I tried filling it with carburator cleaner, letting it soak, and then using compressed air, but wouldn't clean it out. I tried a wire, but couldn't get the wire to go around the corner enough to clean it out. Do I have to make a new tube or does someone have a trick to clean these? I have always been able to eventually clean them out before. Roger

Roger,

Don't forget to also clean the fittings... especially the one in the engine block.

Sometimes heat will soften the deposits enough that they'll just run out... or coke them up so dynamite won't work if you overdo it.

If you have an old speedometer cable put it in an electric hand drill and let it work its way through the blockage with carb-cleaner in the tube. I did that and it snaked through the blockage with no problem.
