Valve stems for M front rims

Are there valve stems available to fit front rims on my M? I'd like to eliminate the tubes, as then I can just use plugs if I get a leak. I tried one that I had, but it was too small. It seems like Ford vehicles, trucks in particular, used a larger valve stem. Would these work?

Thanks for your input,
Anthony.

Let me elaborate a little. A while back I patched both tubes. Inflated both to approx. 30 lbs., held air fine for 2 months. About a week ago, I upped the pressure to 60 lbs. to make steering easier. Worked fine, until yesterday I moved it about 10 feet, then today both were flat.
Is 60 too much? Did I blow the patches off?
I only moved it in regularly maintained lawn, and find it hard to believe that I would have picked up a sharp object. Although, I suppose stranger things have happened. Anyway, I'm rambling, so I'll sign off. Thanks again.

It might just be time for new tubes. Make sure there are no sharp places on the rim, rust scale etc. Another thing to watch is wher the lugs are rivited in. If they are coming loose they will pinch the tube. patches on sidewalls are hard to hold, overlapping patches etc are a no no. Also remember to check inside the tire for nails etc. 60 pounds is a lot to expect from old rims. 45 should be plenty for your M.

Also if the rims are not in very good shape on the inside it will leak around the bead of the tire. I've changed lot's of tubless tire to tubes because they would leak especially if they set for a long time.

I don't know but if the lugs on your rims are riveted on they may not hold air.

Try going to Napa and bring your rims with you.
I"m sure that they can match you up with some valve stems from a car (something smaller)for the rims off an M. I wouldn't bypass the tubes, but they should be able to help you out.

I think the rivets in the wheel will leak and the tires may not be tubeless.

Got thorns? Tire repair places around here give you a sidewalk guarantee, the tire crosses their sidewalk the guarantee expires! Problem is locust thorns stay in the tire and work into the tube under use, same thorn can be removed several times. At 60#s your tires might be experiencing casing wire breakdown which can punture the tube if your tires are old enough. My nickel Dick Davis
