300 hydraulic problem

My 300 seems to have lost most of its hydraulic fluid after a long day of putting fence posts in. There are no external leaks and the pump works fine when when tanked up. I assume it has a leak into the engine via the timing gear? If so, is it a major problem to fix , and will it leak less if the pump is not used so hard? Thanks in advance!

Same thing happened with me. Installed a speedi sleeve and seal - so far so good. 4 years of rather easy work.
Good luck

If it were leaking into the engine it would be "making oil" check the engine oil level. If it is overfull you found your leak.

Jon, if it were mine I'd replace the seal and put a wear sleeve on it. Seal and sleeve will probably cost 20 - 30 dollars. Most of the time this will work for many years and it's a great deal less expensive than a rebuilt pump.

Sounds like the seal is gone.Replacing it without a wear sleeve means you'll be taking it apart all over again. If the tractor is in good shape,I would buy a new pump.$400 or so but worth it.
