Hi Everybody, I put a Super C together this year using two dead ones. After it was assembled one of my friends called and asked about the rear axles housings, they are wider than any of the C's around here by about five inches. I had not noticed, but I did think it was odd that I could not get it on 30 inch rows. A previous owner fed cattle with it and cut the axles to get closer to his bunks. Guy's book lists 88 and 100 inch axles, I am guessing this was 100. Also had a single front. Are these uncommon or just uncommon around here? I have the facilities to repair the axle shafts if it would be worthwhile, otherwise it will get the standard ones from the donor. This is the first C I have actually used and I can't imagine how I made it this long without one. I made a FH to 3pt. adapter for it, and my two 8n's have not moved since. Very versatile and capable little tractor. What do you think? Bill

Turk, I looked in my Super C part manual and there are special axle carries for the 100" axles you noted. Good observation by your friend.
I picked up a SC myself this winter for a restoration project but find it so useable am having a hard time laying it up. Have been using it for all kind of lite work around the farm in Missouri. Just got finished with a week"s worth of hay making and it was the rake tractor of choice and the wagons to the barn and field tractor. Everyone who drove it commented on what a special and handy tranctor it was to work with. Very easy on fuel and easy to maneuver in tight spaces. Even the kids liked sitting in the seat watching us unload and stack bales. Have a fast hitch as well and if you need to do any light blade work pick up a 2 point blade and use the tilt feature on the fast hitch. Works like a charm on our gravel road. Will take that center hump right out and put it right back in the ruts where it belongs. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I like mine. Will be watching for a couple of 8N"s in the classifieds.

Don't have a Super C book, but in the C book it looks like the longer housings were 100" axle only.

Don't know how common they were, probably a regional thing.

I think you could get all kinds of axel options. Mine has one longer axel than the other. (the right one is longer) I was told by a few people that this was a option also. Andrew
