I have a Farmall and am trying to find out the year by the serial number it is FBK 245182x1. Can anyone help

Oh by the way, IH never built tractors by model year, all you can find is the year it was assembled. Design changes were made at specific serial numbers, and the changes were relatively infrequent.

The only "year" of any significance is the tractors produced in 1939 (the first year) and some of that spilled over into 1940. An expert will correct me on that.

I think it is interesting some people try to collect one of each year. It would be more appropriate to collect one of each fuel type, plus the "V" models, and then one of each type for the 1939, early M, late M. An avid collector should look for one of each 100,000 serial numbers which makes more sense than one that happened to come off the assembly line in a certain calendar year.

I've always wanted two tractors with consecutive serial numbers. I don't know why, but I saw two H's in Red Power with consecutive serial numbers, that was great.

Don, The " X1 " denotes that your tractor is a factory gasoline set up. Thought you might like to know.
