I have a farmall A ,but I cannot find a serial number on it. I have looked and looked, but no luck. I searched the seat brackets no luck. I found a number 6*26*P on the inside of the tractor, could this be a date on the tractor?. and is there anywhere else on this tractor where it might be? I no its an A model, but don't know if it is an A or super A, my dad said it had Hydraulics that worked off the exhaust at one time, does this sound like it would be a super A? any help would be great. thanks

The serial number is located at the top right front corner of the engine block above the magneto. You may have to clean it a little but it is there.

The P in the casting codes stands for 46, you cand find other casting codes and see if they all are the same or close. Some parts may not have always been cast the same year. You can also find the engine serial number I think it is on dist. side on the A. It will be on a flat surface and stamed into the block. The exhaust lift you are talking about was not hydraulics, it used the pressure of the exhaust to raise implement through a valve and a large diameter cylinder, instead of oil. With this style lift it should be and A. Which they last A was in 48, so this goes with your 46 casting code.j=40 k=41, l=42, m=43 n=44 and so on.
