i have a farmall model h , cant read all the serial number , i have this much . fbh34775x1 the casted number on the block is66950 or 6695d . the stamped number on the block is fbh334775x1 . what do the letters in the serial number mean ? thanks for any help , thanks .

The stamped number you're reading off the block is the serial number. It looks like you've got all the digits there.

The ENGINE serial number, not the tractor serial number.

Tractor and engine serial numbers did match, for a while, but that doesn't mean that somebody didn't switch out the engine on this tractor. Unless he's missing some digits from the tag number, the tractor's a 1940 with a 1950 engine.

Can you tell how many digits you can't read on the serial number tag?

the stamped numbers on block would indicate a 1950 year using this site colum to the left under serial numbers

Ira:
FBH is the designation for Farmall H, and X1 after the serial # indicates a factory gasoline engine, hope this helps.
