I have to get new front tires for my M. Miller Tire is about the only one with 2-Rib front tires for an M. However, they are expensive. Do 3-rib tires look okay on an M? Or should I pay the extra price for 2-ribs?

Dean: I don't ever remember seeing two rib tires on any letter series Farmalls, super or non super. The few two rib tires I've seen were on 140, 240, 340, 460 and 560 series. They were not a very good tire. The cant of the front wheels caused them to ride on the outside rib when new, this made tractor more difficult to steer. On a wide front tractor I've never seen them wear evenly. In later years there were many tractors around with one two rib tire and one triple rib. That alone should tell you something.

I just did a google search and didn"t see anything two-rib. Nuts, cause I want a pair for my 340. Looked at Miller online and just saw three-ribs. Good luck and post here if you find two-rib.

Not pictured but 2-ribs are listed for $105 each.

I know Dad's 560 came with 2 rib tires and my brother's 560 came with Goodyear 3 rib tires. I like the look of the 3 rib better but I'm not sure there was any special standard 2 or 3 rib tire for any of the IH lines.

I just quickly looked through a Red Power magazine and didn't see a single 2 rib tire on any of the restored tractors. I think the 3 rib tires look just fine. Same story after looking at Guy Fay's Farmall Letter Series Tractors Originality Guide although I did see 2 rib tires on a couple of the smaller tractors.

All ours have 3 rib. I think i paid $160 CDN For 2 tires and 2 tubes. I got the super rib, some no name, but i think if i put new front tires on any other tractor, i will go with firestone, BFG, ot titan, they have alot deeper ribs than the super ribs.

Don't have a 2 rib tire in the entire fleet and no one has ever said squat about it.

It is your tractor and it is your money. How can we make that decision for you?

Go with your feelings.
