Did they make any of these beasts? I have pesonally never seen a Super W-9 Gas. Would like to have one. I've been told that there wasn't any gas models made. Why would they make a 600 or 650 in a gas but no Super W-9? Thanks for the help.

There was no Super W-9. There was a WDR-9S which had the same engine as the WR-9 or W-9 but all of the other Super features. IHC had decided there was not enough call for high horsepower gasoline tractors to warrant a Super W-9 but the rice farmers still used a large precentage of gas and LPG tractors so they offered the WR-9S gas in Rice Field Special only.

What was involved with the WR-9S to make it "Super"?

Was it just the bigger bore engine from 4.40 to 4.50"?

Thanks,

The WR-9S did not have the bigger engine. As previously stated it had the same 4.4 x 4.5 334.5 cu in gas engine as the W-9/WR-9 which is why they did not call it a Super. However, it did have : the disc brakes, increased radiator capacity, and beefed up transmission and differential of the Super WD-9 and Super WDR-9 which is why they added the S to the model. I recon it was about 1/2 super. Just for a point of information, the 600 and 650 gas tractors did have the 4.5 bore giving them 350 cubic inches.
