Left rear wheel is cracking and popping(sounds like a bag of rocks in the wheel). I notice some leakage by the upper casing and that I don"t have much left brake ( havent had much left break since I purchaced it 4 years ago) Any ideas? How bad is it? How hard to fix? Where can I find parts for a Super A?
Thanks!

Try testing as others have suggested. I get most of my parts at my Case/IH dealer. They should have everything you need. I pay more at the dealer but I still think the parts are better. You may also check the salvidge yards for used parts, depending on what you end up needing. Dave.

You may not have much breaking on the left side due to transmission lubricant seeping onto the brake lining and drum. On the left side the drum sets right next to the transmission, on the right side it is out on the end of the axle housing and stays dryer.

The noise may be from loose rim as others have said and is the first place to look. It is also possible that you have a bearing going out so if tightening everything up doesn’t take care of it, jack it up and roll it over and listen for where it’s coming from and for looseness in the shaft the wheel bolts to.

The others have made good suggestions, to start with make sure all wheel bolts and weight bolts are tight. If that doesn't cure the problem, try jacking rear of tractor to see how loose your axle bearings are. Just watch axle and wheel in relation to final drive as you jack.

My guess is that the bolts that hold the rim (4 of them) to the hub are loose. Also could be the weights are loose on the hub. When the rim bolts are loose, it will make a "popping/cracking" sound. Your lack of brakes probably means the differential seal is leaking oil onto the brake drum. The final drive must be removed from the transmission housing to fix it.

If you have wheel weights, make sure they're bolted on tight, mine sounds like that if the weights are loose.
