I had to take off the round nut on the transmission side of my Farmall H lift-All drive shaft to replace the seal. I have been having trouble with getting the drive shaft tight again. I posted about this before. I used lock tight on that round nut and backed it off so the shaft was tight. It loosened up a little. It is now where I can shake it a little. Is it still too loose? I am not sure what to do. Thanks!!

Also use a tight fitting cotter key. I think they are 1/4 inch X 2 1/2

John, The coupling between the transmission and the pump is always loose. It is just held in with the to cotter pins and the sleeves. The transmission drive dog should be tight into the transmission and doesn't need any Lok Tite to hold it as it screws in under load. Roger
