I have taken the pump apart. Replaced springs and keepers and gaskets. I now am trying to re-assemble and the hardest part is getting the lever post back into the looped slot on the cover. Do any of you have a trick for this....I am going crazy trying to get it done. Thanks.....

(control shaft lever to the cam and piston valve lever)

Temporarily attach the operating lever to the pump and use it for leverage when re-assembling.
Be sure to operate it through the full range of travel; lift(stays in place), hold, drop.
Just be patient.

I know what you mean! Just went through the same thing yesterday. I ruined the "store Bought gasket" wiggiling the pump around trying to get the control shaft in the slot on the pump. I made a new gasket and waited until I got the thing in place, and then worked the new gasket over the pump. Wasn't as hard as trying to get things togather and trying not to tear up the gasket. I layed the reservor on its back, and put the pump in from the top. Then cock the pump toward the control shaft and just wiggle it around. I think the secret is you just gotta hold yopur mouth right. ken
