I can not find a ridge reamer that will fit in cylinder of the cub engine. I am going to take the crankshaft out. Question is will the pistons slide out the bottom after crankshaft is out without needing a reamer? Looks like that may work. I have got to carry the block to a machine shop anyway to be fixed and cleaned. Thanks

I had to use one made for little lawn mower engines, but yes they will come out the bottom once the crank is out.

I think the pistons can be removed from the bottom of the block after you remove the crankshaft. Give it a try anyway and if there's a problem, the machine shop can remove the ridge and then remove the pistons. If it is worn beyond the specs the block may need to be bored oversize. Hal
