Got a Super M on Lp today. It ran out of propane after we unloaded it. Put some LP in it, but it won't start. Shot it with just a little ether and it started right up. But won't start on LP. Do you have to prime it or blead it somehow?

Mark, It"ll take a while. But it will be enough to get the tractor moving. I used an old fork lift tank and could get the liquid out fine. It has to do with the position of the intake inside the tank. Your BBQ tank would work if you held it upside down.
Just get that guage to register, (it might take a couple times with that small tank, (gas can)). What I"ve done is holler at the LP guy when he comes to the next house down, and he"ll fill it.
Since you just got it, you might want to check those valves for leaks. You know, bubble juice.

GWT: I used the small tank. Let it run into it for about 3 hours, and it started right up. Thanks for all the help.

Chances are that you are not getting any LP in the tank on the tractor. Probably the pressure in both tanks is about the same. Since your tractor is still on the trailer take it to a LP dealer and he can pump liquid propane into your tank. The small tank that you are trying to use only lets out vapor. If you can connect your small tank directlly to your vapor line that will also work until you can get some liquid pumped into your tank.

GOOD LUCK

Big John. That's exactly what has happened. Let it run in there for 3 hours, and it started right up. I will get it filled on Monday.

Mark, Sounds to me like the diaphram developed a whole in it when it tries to re start. Shut all valves off and let it set a while then try to stat it this way...Now provideing the valves do not leak any at all....Start cranking the engine, As the engine is turning over crack the Vapor valve and see it it starts. If it does then you need new diaphrams. I can get you the name of a fellow who makes then up in OKLA.
Hope this helps.
Later.
John A.
Let me know, I will check this post area early Sat AM and not till later on it the day when I get back from helping a neighbor.

Hi John. I thought you might answer this for me. I am trying to get LP into the tank via a small tank and hose. May not be getting enough LP into the tank. The tractor has a new regulator on it. I am going out this morning to see if I can get it to start. We are having some storms, so it might be a while.
