Have an old late 30"s Farmall that has new plugs, wires, distributer, points, condenser and have cleaned magneto. Will crank and idle just fine, but when throttling up will not gain power, seems like it is running at 20 % power if accelerating any at all. Have put magneto back to match marks, as it seems to be out of time, (my only guess). Any thoughts would be apperciated. Thanks.

Thanks to one and all of you. Will try some of your ideas along the line of fuel problems. Will go through the tank, line, strainer, and carbarator again and cross my fingers. Thanks again. Good thoughts.

I would also check the throttle linkage and the govenor to carb linkage.

If that carburetor has a main jet adjusting screw
you may need to open it 1/2 to 3/4 turn to see if the engine speed will come up to full throttle.
That's turning it counter-clockwise to open, this will increase the amount of fuel to the engine.
Make sure you don't have any blockage between the carburetor and gas tank. Rust or dirt or both will stop the fuel flow creating a drip that allows the engine to only idle. Hal

Don't know what model you got, but maybe the govenor spring broke or unhooked

You say it idles fine. When you try to rev up does it start missing or does it just sit there? If the ignition is in good shape start looking at fuel, and govenor.
Just a thought.
