Mornin' You Red Guys!

Yesterday, I got done working on my old cultivator and take it up on top of the next hill over, where I've got a field that I park all the machinery in.

Come back and am like a 5-year-old kid and can't stop talkin' bout that old red tractor and how it "throbs" with power under yer feet.

The wife just rolls her eyes, shakes her head and tries her best to ignore me.

I don't think women are wired for old tractors like we are; maybe they have two ribs missing 'stead of just one, er somptin'?

Dunno, but every time I look at that old red dog, I gotta go take another blood pressure pill. :>)

Later, ya'll have a good day!

Allan

Allan: you apparently haven't heard about the "roll your eyes" training academy that tractor guy wives attend. There's even continuing education courses in eye rolling that keeps eye rolling practitioners up to date with the latest methods.

My wife is an honors graduate of this academy. She even wrote a thesis on how to accompany an eye roll with a vocal "pffft" sound.

I've managed to corrupt our 16-year-old daughter in the nefarious lifestyle of tractor liking. I now get double the eye rolls and "pffffts"! (Hee, hee, hee!)

See for yourself. Pictured is my incorrigible offspring partaking in lascivious activity 4 weeks ago.

Nice looking 9. Next time take the photo before you flip the seat up. Sounds like your 966 is outstanding in it's field!

Allen, nice gambrel roof on that tiny little bldg. in background. Do you have an IH tractor that goes inside? You keep referin" to "that old tractor". Way more modern that mine. You probably didn"t plan it, but the light cloud cover means no harsh shadows/highlights on the subject. That, along with good croping of your picture makes for a much better image that often seen. Oh, and say, nice job on the tractor - just need some "bib-overralled" farmer standin" by her, the tractor I mean.

The way I figured it,

If I got rid of that silly lawn mower building, I could have room fer another red tractor.

As per usual, the wife put the dampener on that idea real quick. Silly girl, I don't think she quite understands the complexity of the affliction. :>)

Hmmmm.

Maybe you're right; I'm probably being disrespectful to CaseIH. Or..... .maybe it's cause the nearest dealer is 100 miles away or some silly thing. :>)

Rainin' up there? We be gettin' 'er again; maybe the corn will get planted in June this year. :>)

Thanks fer your help on the hay-cutter, by the way. I never would have thought to check those rollers.

yeah it's been raining on and off for the last five days now. maybe a total of about two inches so far at about 2-3 tenths at a time. corn is all in around here and beans are about half done. your so proud when case-ih ships you parts overnight so why not get filters also? or when your out and about just stock up? i work in a town with a dealer but live 1/2 hour out. i have always stocked parts at home because i'm usually working on stuff at night and weekends and don't want to wait till the next day for parts. every spring the dealer has a sale on maintence items so i stock up for the year, filters, oil , etc. just a thought since your "fleet" keeps growing.

Allen, if your in the market for a smaller international, I just traded my 300 utility for a skidsteer loader at Henkins. It isn't as shiney as yours but with a little tlc would look almost as good. Theres always room for one more tractor. I guess since I'm not an IHC owner anymore I'll have to spend my computer time elsewhere. Is there a John-Deere skidsteer board somewhere?
