I went to the local tractor pull the other day and seen a Farmall SHTA tractor. The announcer said that they made 10 of these tractors from the factory. From what i have read in alot information on Farmall tractors they never completed a SHTA tractors but waited tell the 300 came out to introduce the TA with them. So did they mix and match parts off a 300 to build this tractor or what. want to find more information if this is true or not.

The May/June 2005 issue of Antique Power on the first page of the classifieds has an ad for a 1950 H SMTA. Wonder what that's all about.

In all seriousness, I知 planning on building a Super B. I have a B rear end and an engine from a windrower that will bolt right on it. All the parts were bought from a scrap yard for the project. I知 building it because I would like to have a B with live hydraulics on it, and like the way the super A and Cs were done, so...I知 going to save some old iron from the melt down for a while and end up with something useful.

Now if only I could find out what TA was put in the SCTA, and I could have a SBTA!

Red power did a write up onit a few years back, they did make a prototype, but that was it. The one they made, had an automatic ta, once the tractor got so much load on it it went in to ta mode,

Tell the dumb announcer to find the other nine and he would have a lot more money than he has now.

Problem is, there are probably at least nine more homemade SHTAs out there, more than likely all with the same serial number of 501.

I don't understand some of you who poo-poo the idea of building a fantasy tractor like that, especially when the parts fit together without modification. Like it's a crime against nature or something... Would you rather have one running tractor, or two being melted for scrap?

Check the archives. Subject has seen a lot of play over the past years. Red Power magazine had a story with pictures of some of the prototypes about a year ago. The ones that exist were made by killing a 300 or 350. The record is a SHTAD High Crop and it was a beaut. My nickel Dick Davis

Scrap value only. There is very little value to a homemade tractor.
