Farmall H swinging drawbar hole question???

On a swinging drawbar for a Farmall H there is the hole you hook implements to, there are the 2 holes for either the strap or roller but there is a hole in between them. What is that hole for?? Thanks!!

I used to use it for storing a hitch pin when I let the drawbar “swing” when using a harrow.

I truly think it is for mounting a “clevis” type of hitch to the drawbar that would allow a “pintel” (sp) type of hitch on the drawn implement to be used instead of the traditional “U” shaped hitch on the implement. I could be all wet here, but I have seen this done before…
