1486 injector pump

today i attempted to turn up my 1486 i took the cover off of the top of the injector pump and turned it in 1 turn clockwise then i took the timing cover off and took the gear off to adavance it then i started the tractor and it started harder like it was cold and then went to plow with it i was able to plow in 4th gear now it has trouble plowing in 3rd gear can anyone help me set this straight i really messed up now

You should go out and buy your self a service manual. The procedure is clearly detailed in one.

Yep, you"ve definetly messed it up. Gotta turn the screw counterclockwise for more power. Leave the timing alone.

Put the timeing back to where ya started at like others have said and what you did was turn the pump down . Come back out on the screw to the stock setting and then come out about 3/4 turn . Playen with a injection pump if you don't know what you are doing and don't have it on a stand or on the dyno can cause ya a bunch of money in the long run as more then likely it has already been tweeked and is or was running at around 165-175 as this is usualy where i have found them at and sometimes well over 200 , but it is your money .

Hi Jack, the hard starting would indicate the timing is now to slow. If the timing is to fast it will kick back on the starter and also engine knock will occurr which is not good.

Return the timing gear to where you found it.

put the timing back where it was! you should not have to change the timing for a turn of extra fuel.
