Ok so Super H pistons and sleeves will not fit in a standard H block of 1951 origin CORRECT???
Is it worth the money to get the boock bored that 1/16"Or 1/8" what ever it would need and different wrist pin bushings Too??? Or is that really not enough difference in the 3 and 7/16 to the 3 and 9/16 bore. I still will Go 300 Cam,Intake,And SM Carb either way. What do you think we would be talking in HP here 1/8" over bore Correct??? P.S.
Is it true that the C169 Manifold was bigger than the new after markets are??? JON

Magman, I bought a SH to put a V6 in, I took out an engine supposed to be a running engine,There was some coolant in the oil.I have'nt had time to tear it down to find the problem, If it is a simple fix, I will repair it and put in my stock H. If it is bad I will part it out. If you need any stock 164 parts let me know,

No, wont fit. bout anywhere from 38-48 hp from that set up depending on compression ratio you end up with. its your dollar, spend it how ever you wish, but, once you have done that, you will like that H alot more. Look at a vinson manifold for a replacement, good air flow for that series engine. Stock manifolds are actually smaller than the replacemnets, unless you look at a LP manifold. Chad

CHADs, the reproduction manifolds I have seen don't look like they are nearly as good as a stock manifold, and appear to have smaller runners. People I know who have tried the reproduction manifolds are not happy with the performance. An original IH part is always better.

YA SEE NOW, I have a brother that has a 300 and if I buy a new manifold he will trade me his stock he does not care as long as one is on there. So do I waste the money having the block bored for the SH or just do everthing and stay with the 3 and 7/16" set up?? JON

If ya can get the manifold off the 300, go for it, it will flow better. As far as boring, I am sure you will get more horses, but I think a well tuned H with the overbore kit will still make people stand up and take notice.
