Super C hillside hitch

On my super C from the family farm it has a rod you can put on from one of the rocker arms on the left side and it goes down to a linkage that you can move the drawbar to the left or right probablly a foot of swing. I think it is called a hillside hitch, told it was used when plowing. I've never seen another one at shows or in books. Is this option rare?

John: Nothing rare about it, not a side hill adjustment, but rather hitch leveling adjustment. It was there from factory on every Super C and 200 with fast hitch.

The most common use for this was plowing, designed to level plow and compensate for right rear wheel being in furrow. You could however use it to level any fast hitch implement sideways.

This is not a fast hitch, it is a 51 model before they were available. The drawerbar moves left or right and does not go up and down.

John: My misunderstanding, If this shifts standard swinging draw bar side to side, yes you are right it would be a side hill adjustment. Your asumption that it is probably quite rare is right.

I had a hydraulic side hill adjustment on my Farmall 560, but it was my own fabrication using a remote double action implement cylinder. The mechanical hand levers were fine, except you couldn't shift them on the go. What I found with 560 and 4 bottom trailer plow, is sometimes you couldn,t shift it even when stopped.

Don't know if it is rare or not. My implement catalog has it listed as a Drawbar shifting hitch.Looks like it would work great on hills.
