I am currently restoring a Farmall Cub. I have the engine all overhauled and took the flywheel to the local NAPA machine shop to have it refaced. He did not have any specs on the flywheel and there wasn't anything in my service manual. The clutch surface on the flywheel is raised by approximately .030" above the rest of the flywheel. When he measured this, it varied from .025 to .035" depending on where he measured it. Can anyone tell me what it should be? Roger

10 thousandths on a fly wheel isn't enough variance to worry about. Unless you have driven the rivets on the clutch plate into it and scored the surface I'd leave it.

Why do you think it need refacing? It's hard to imagine any reason refacing would improve one. The starter ring gear is another matter.

I think you should take the flywheel someplace else and get it turned. IMHO it is a little silly to need specs to reface a flywheel. The chances of getting it too thin are very thin.

Remember this is a low-speed engine with lots of safety margin built in to the parts.
