Found a Farmall Super C wide front end, outside a barn partly covered with tarp no battery, has alternator. I can buy cheap but I need to start it. Can"t find an ignition or starter switch. Want to stick a 12V battery in it. Help! Where is the switch or ignition? I assume its 12v since it has alternator. exhaust stack has no rain cap and no muffler. Haven"t bought a manual yet.

third party image

The ignition switch is in the middle of the dash (lower arrow on pic); pulled out is on.
Starter is activated by pulling on the rod on the right side of the light bar (upper arrow)

I"d make sure it isn"t stuck before getting too concerned about getting a battery.

Good luck,
Bill

Just because it has an alternator doesn't mean it's 12V. I have a Super C and a 200, both are 6V and have alternators. Definately great tractors, my 200 is my favorite next to my SMTA.

Good Luck!

Original ignitition would have been a push-pull switch. If you get juice to the coil it will run.

The starter switch is supposed to be on top of the starter with a rod connected to it, with the rod hooked right below the light bar.
