I noticed that YT sells a I&T Shop Manual for a Farmall H. Is this manual a good one to buy or is there a better one available? All I saw on B i n d e r Books web site for this tractor was Service and Parts Manuals.

My experience with I & T manuals is that you had better be a decent mechanic to begin with. The one for Farmalls, that I have, says "the procedure is obvious" way to many times. I was able to stumble through a rebuild on my M but I also had a parts book and the engine rebuild video, and lots of advise from other people.

The best thing to get is an IH Service Manual for your particular model. They are quite extensive and will give you alot more imformation than the I&T Manual. There are several places that you can get reprints from. My local IHCase dealer had them. Yes that is the way the dealer should be named.

Three or four years ago you could still get all the IHC manuals from a Case/IH dealer. I don't know if they can still order the service manule or not. Good place to start looking.

I prefer the Blue Ribbon manual. Ebay has some reprints quite often. It is the service maual that you want I believe.

The service manual is probably what you want, but you need to contact them. I am sure they have what you need. Personally I find the I&T manuals very disappointing.

I&T are good shop manuals and will give you 99.998% of the information that you will need for an H. There may be better ones out there, but in my opinion I&T are worth every penny.

The best ones to get would be from a case/IH dealer if, and thats a big one if they still have them

Thanks for the advice. I have an I&T Manual that covers several different tractor models and it is pretty worthless. Perhaps the I&T manual listed for sale on this site by Y.T. that covers only one model tractor would be much better.

If you've already got the I&T manual, save your money.

What you get from here is the exact same thing, except if yours has the yellow/manilla cover, the newer ones with tractor pictures on them have even less information in them!

Not sure most only tell you enough to get by and thats if you know engines etc. The best I have seen are the ones that where printed by the company that made the tractor. I even have one very old owners manual that tells you every thing you need to do any thing to the tractor. But it was printed in 1935
