Decent tractor over all. Handy to use for chorework. Wouldn't be the best for tillage work as it is too light. As one of the other posters mentioned, watch that the parking brake is good. Not that expensive, but a big job as the band is inside the tranny and requires the entire tranny top cover to be removed for replacement. The hydraulic levers are not real handy to reach unless your arms are 4 foot long. This can be corrected with a little engineering.

I have a 674 diesel non-hydro with a 2250 loader on it. I paid $6700 for it 2 years ago. It works great as a utility tractor. You might want to check the parking brake. On a lot of these tractors, someone could have tried to move it with the brake on, causing the band in the tranny to break, with the pieces eventually ending up in the hyd filter.

I do not know much about them , I had a 674 which was ok but not thrilling if you know what I mean. My neighbour had them, they seemed to think if you put one in a field with the same size Massey (165-168 say) pulling the same size plow, the MF would blow the IH 574 away. Talking of plows, if it is a hydro, FORGET plowing with it.A nice little tool for baling, precision drilling and hedgecutting etc where you need precise forward speed, but for heavy cultivations, no. it is a hydrostatic drive not a "solid" clutch- mechanical gearbox set up.
