Was wondering what year did fast hitch become available and was it available on all rowcrop models of that year?

Thanks
scotty

'53, Super C only. Dealers were brought in to Hinsdale to see it in July, 1953.

I've heard that some late 52 S/C's had fast hitch. I have a late 52 with it. It could have been added, but it would have probably have been just as cheap to trade for a '53. I don't believe mine was an add-on.

1953 Super C. My dad got the first one that came out of the local IH dealer. The tractor's still in the family but all impliments have been worn out and junked 30 years ago. My first recognizable sign of old age was 15 yrs. ago when I sold a nice corvette and replaced it with a 53 Super C just like dad's. Jim

I think Fast Hitch was first available on Super C's. Not sure what year it would have been. Super C started in '51, but I don't think Fast Hitch was available at first, maybe not until '53.

I think the first year it was offered on all row-crop models would have been late in 1954 on the first 200's, 300's & 400's.

That may not be 100% correct, but I think it's close.

Dave: I would have said 1952, but I'm no more sure than you. I remember our IH dealer having 2 Super C's at fall fair, one WF the other NF, with 2 bottom plow, disk, mower, rear blade and platform carrier. Can't remember whether it was 52 or 53. Must have been before I noticed girls, but that doesn't resolve it either, as I think that occured in 54.
