You boys all planted out where you are? I was to SW Minnesota today and it's always depressing to see how much farther ahead everyone is compared to here in Valders/Howards Grove. I'll be on the grain drill again tomorrow, though. For someone else of course- mine never gets done on time it seems. We've had a LOT of winter kill here, both alfalfa and winter wheat. That really bites when 50% of you're crops that you were counting on are not there in spring.

the beans are pretty much all that's left. there are a few guys still working on corn. i had my small grain in the first week of april and the corn was in two weeks ago. no beans this year for me. we are actually on time as far as time wise but compared to other years we are behind. usually everything is in by now. we had so much rain last fall the guys had to wait till freeze up to get the corn off so no fields got worked. actually we didn't get that much rain, it was just so cold out the ground never dried out. last year at this time i was done with everything for a week now. we have had some wicked frost also. i don't think anything is too badly damaged. i guess time will tell. we're supposed to warm up this week finally. been snowing on and off this whole weekend.
